The
10th annual SURF NRG EAST COAST SUMMER TOUR
will be in full swing starting in mid-August and running thru mid-September.
What started back in Ô91 as a grass roots surf video night with
4 stops within the state of Florida has swelled to an East Coast
Tour that last year consisted of 20 shows covering the entire East
Coast from Middletown, Rhode Island to Coconut Grove, Florida.
This years
tour is promising to be awesome. HURLEY, one of the leading core
surf companies in the industry, returns as title sponsor of the
SurfNRG Tour along with co-sponsors REEF, SMITH SPORT OPTICS and
SURFER MAGAZINE. We'll be giving away product from our sponsors
at each of the shows as well as various goodies from local surf
shops that are participating in their areas.

The dates of
our shows run during the peak periods of professional surfing competions
on the East Coast including The HERITAGE MEMORIAL PRO in Sea Isle
City, New Jersey, The EAST COAST SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS in Virginia
Beach, The NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION event in Cocoa Beach, Florida,
and the UNSOUND PRO in Long Beach, New York. Many of the pro surfers
competing in these contests and that are featured in the video attend
the SURF NRG shows. The venues are targeted to key beach towns that
pull a strong local draw of surfers as well as visiting tourists
that are drawn to the surfer/beach lifestyle.
Each venue
will feature the premiere showing of XS ENERGY, Surf NRG vol. #10
on a wide-screen projection system. The movie contains footage of
many of the top surfers from the East Coast surfing in Hawaii, the
Caribbean, North Carolina, New Jersey and Florida. The surfers highlighted
in XS ENERGY include 6X World Champion Kelly Slater, back-to-back
WCT Rookie-of-the-Year recipients CJ and Damien Hobgood, North Carolina's
Ben Bourgeois, Noah Snyder, Matt Gilligan and Matt Beacham, New
Jersey's Frank Walsh and Ryan Kimmel, Puerto Rico's Dylan Graves
and Carlos Cabrera, and Florida's Asher Nolan, Adam Wickwire, Bryan
Hewitson, Danny Melhado, Peter Mendia and Shea and Corey Lopez.
The SURF NRG
EAST COAST SUMMER TOUR is a fun social gathering for surfers of
all ages (please check details above for age requirments at each
venue). Since our beginnings we've produced one movie per year and
toured with it to audiences along the East Coast. Our efforts have
brought the return of the vibe from earlier days when the latest
surf movie would pack out the local VFW Hall with hordes of stoked-out,
hootin' 'n hollerin' surfers. We add a twist by including live performances
by bands that are featured on the soundtrack of the video.
